The Wayne County Water & Sewer Authority (WCWSA) is seeking a motivated, reliable, and qualified individual to fill the position of Water/Wastewater Operator Trainee / General Laborer at our Red Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility, located at 6765 Ford Road, Wolcott, NY.
Under the general supervision of the Chief Operator, this position assists with the operation and maintenance of:
- Public potable water systems
- Wastewater collection systems
- Public wastewater treatment facilities
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid New York State driver’s license (required)
- Strong mechanical aptitude (required)
- CDL or water/wastewater-related certifications are not required but are considered an asset.
- WCWSA provides training opportunities to help employees obtain water, wastewater, and CDL licensing.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and an interest in building a long-term career in the water and wastewater industry.
